Healthy lifestyle is fundamental to the well being and longevity of a society. However, not everyone in India can afford quality health care. People often have to shell out vast amounts towards cost of medicines, hospitalization and surgeries, that could be way beyond the means of the deprived strata of our society. India does not have a public social security scheme and a very large segment of people are not covered by any medical insurance. Many times such expenses drive families to resort to distress financing which impoverishes them and ultimately drives them to poverty. Therefore one of the focus areas of the Foundation is contribute to improving health and well-being. We believe in the adage that a healthy society is a happier and more productive society and a key driver of economic growth.
