Disaster Relief
When disaster strikes in the form of natural calamities such as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires, drought etc or in the form of pandemics such as HIV/AIDS, SARS, NIPA and now Covid -19, the society pitches in with all sorts of support to save the victims. At such times, Government may not have all the resources and the required reach beyond the emergency relief whereas the ground level community will have the resources to seek and provide help. NGOs play a huge role in supplementing the Government initiatives.
Sanitation
For any society to be rated as progressive, the conditions relating to public health especially the provision of clean drinking water and adequate sewage disposal are significant factors. By ensuring these, infections can be controlled. Proper toilet facilities are essential in homes, at public places like schools especially with girl students. Proper sanitation facility can control problems such as open defecation and sewage disposal providing a healthy and clean environment that enable people to lead a healthy, happy life.
Housing
Having an own house is a cherished dream of all, but for many underprivileged people it is often unachievable. Geojit Foundation understands this and works towards providing basic shelter and sanitation to such sections of the society.
