When disaster strikes in the form of natural calamities such as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires, drought etc or in the form of pandemics such as HIV/AIDS, SARS, NIPA and now Covid -19, the society pitches in with all sorts of support to save the victims. At such times, Government may not have all the resources and the required reach beyond the emergency relief whereas the ground level community will have the resources to seek and provide help. NGOs play a huge role in supplementing the Government initiatives.

Chennai Floods 2015 – New Homes for Flood victims

In partnership with the NGO, Habitat for Humanity India, the Foundation built and handed over 10 disaster resilient homes to the tribal families of Irular at Kuzhipanthandalam village in Kanchipuram district, who had lost their dwellings during the flood.

Rebuild Kerala -IMC Project

The Kerala floods of 2018 & 2019 had devastated many families in the state, resulting in loss of lives, livelihood and homes. The Indian Merchants Chamber (IMC), Mumbai made a donation to the Foundation with the specific instruction that their donation should be utilized only for flood relief projects.

Chennai Floods 2015

In December 2015, the city of Chennai and its coastal areas were badly hit by torrential rains and flooding which badly affected the population. The Foundation provided on the spot support by purchasing and providing essential items to the people affected by the floods.
