Footwear for Filariasis Patients
Lymphatic Filariasis is known worldwide as a neglected tropical disease. The clinical manifestations of the disease are stigmatizing and disfiguring. Majority of the patients with Filariasis cannot use footwear due to the grotesque shape of their limbs. Partnering with the Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, the Foundation provided specially designed footwear for this population which help them to prevent infections and cover the foot.
